Five of Europe's Most Confusing Road Signs
Even for people who have been driving for a long time, renting a car and driving in a different country can be very difficult.
Trying to understand road signs that are in a different language is one challenge, but what about those confusing signs that don't have any words at all?
Well, a car rental company from the UK has made a list of some of Europe's most confusing road signs.
Stress Free Rental chose 13 signs that could confuse drivers — here are just five of them and what they mean.
Could this mean "no music," "no trumpets" or maybe even "no singing"? Well, it's none of those things — it's a sign from Spain telling drivers not to use their horns!
This one you can probably guess, but it still might be a surprise to see it! This is from Norway, warning drivers there are polar bears in the area — perhaps even crossing the road!
This is another surprising animal sign — you might see it in parts of Germany when frogs could be seen on the road. The UK car service company RAC says you should slow down when seeing this sign, because the animals could cause an accident.
Now here's a more confusing one — is that an animal riding a train in the sea? No, it's actually an Italian sign that says drivers may not carry water pollutants in the area.
You might not know what this sign means at first, but you'll know it's not good! This one is from France, and it warns cars carrying dangerous loads or explosives not to enter the area.
But hopefully this isn't something most rental car drivers will need to know!
