Man Writes HR Complaint Against His Cat
Andrew Stych and his wife, Sheila, are both working from their home in California because of the coronavirus pandemic. That means they share their new "office" with four cats and one dog. Sheila was having problems with one of the cats, so Andrew wrote a complaint to the home "HR Department."
In his letter, he wrote that although the cat, Penelope, was helping by being cute and chasing things, she was also stopping Sheila from getting work done by stepping on her keyboard and turning off the power to her computer. He wrote that if Penelope's behavior did not improve, she might not get any more treats.
Andrew also told PopSugar, a women's lifestyle website, that the cat had even caused his wife to send a work email before it was finished.
Andrew shared his letter on Facebook, where almost 50 of his friends "liked" it. Then PopSugar wrote an article about the letter, and it was shared almost 500,000 times.
"If I had been asked what I would be remembered for 20 years ago, I probably wouldn't have replied 'an HR letter to my cat'," Stych wrote after he saw how popular the article had become.
If you're having problems with your cat while working from home, Animal Channel says having a regular schedule can help. It suggests playing with him or her before work and during breaks, so the cat will be more likely to sleep while you're working. You can also train your cat not to walk on your desk or go into your office, but this will take time.
