Taco Bell Launches Monthly Taco Subscription
You may have a subscription to Netflix, Spotify and maybe even a magazine. But do you have a subscription for tacos? Taco Bell thinks maybe you should.
For $5 to $10 a month, customers can subscribe to the new Taco Lover's Pass and get one taco per day at a few of the fast-food restaurant's locations.
Customers can activate their subscription through the Taco Bell app. A new section will then appear in which they can choose from seven different types of tacos, which usually cost between $1 and $2.39 each.
For now, the subscription is only available in 17 stores in Tucson, Arizona, until November 24, 2021. So most taco fans will have to wait to see if the subscription becomes available in their local store.
Taco Bell isn't the first restaurant to offer a subscription, however. Panera Bread has a drinks subscription in which customers pay $8.99 a month and get a free cup of coffee or tea every two hours.
After being successful in the UK, Pret a Manger launched its Pret Coffee Subscription in New York City and Washington, DC in September 2021. Customers can get up to five cups of coffee or tea a day from $19.99 a month.
Every year from 2014 to 2019, Olive Garden offered a Never Ending Pasta Pass to a certain number of customers. For $100, customers could eat unlimited pasta at the restaurant as many times as they wanted for nine weeks. In 2019, the restaurant also offered 50 people its Lifetime Pasta Pass for $500. With this, customers can get unlimited pasta for life.
