Lexus On Top in Japanese Dream Car Survey
Do you have a dream car — one that you'd love to own, or even just take for a drive?
Well in Japan, Lexus came out on top in a 2023 survey that asked people about their dream car brands.
The Japanese carmaker came ahead of foreign brands Porsche, Ferrari, BMW and Mercedes in a survey by car rental and parking lot company Park24.
Sixteen percent of the 5,225 people who took part chose Lexus as their favorite — the brand they would most like to drive at least once. Porsche was second with 10%.
This is the first time that a Japanese brand has been at the top of the Park24 list, which was first released in 2015.
Lexus is a luxury brand owned by Toyota, and 46% of those people who chose it as their dream car did so because they think it would make them look important or successful.
Thirty-seven percent of participants said they liked its design.
All age groups surveyed chose Lexus as their dream car brand, but Toyota also did well, with teenagers choosing it as their second favorite.
Lexus cars were first sold in the late 1980s, and they are now available across the world.
According to the company's website, more than 620,000 Lexus cars were sold in 2022. Many of them were electric.
