Superfan to Get $1,000 to Watch All 24 James Bond Films
A website called Nerd Bear is offering one James Bond superfan $1,000 to watch all 24 Bond movies in 30 days, from 1962's Dr. No to 2015's Spectre.
"That's over 51 hours of films, 7 different 007s, and too many martinis!" the website wrote.
Nerd Bear says it hopes the job will keep one lucky fan going while they wait for the 25th James Bond movie, No Time to Die, to be released. The movie has been delayed several times because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but should come to theaters in September.
"We thought this competition would not only bring back happy memories but also help someone pass the time during the lockdown," Amar Hussein, Nerd Bear's founder, told CNN.
To apply, people must name their favorite James Bond movie, explain why they are a James Bond fan and say why they should get the job. They also have to be over 18 years old and from the US, and must apply by April 16.
The winner will get a $100 Amazon gift card to rent the 24 movies on Amazon Prime, and they have to complete a worksheet while they watch. Once they've watched all the movies, they will get $1,000 and a $50 AMC gift card to watch the newest Bond film in a theater.
Nerd Bear is among a growing number of companies offering to pay people to do fun or easy activities. In November 2020, a company in the UK offered to pay five people to test mattresses and pillows. And in January, a Canadian candy company offered to pay people about $25 an hour to eat candy.
