Well, I'm going to describe the kangaroo. There are lots of them – around 40 million, apparently. They tend not to venture into the cities, so you can find them mostly in the countryside. Lots of people seem to think they're aggressive, but they aren't really. They're shy and mostly harmless. They're definitely wild animals, though, so they can be dangerous.
I think the only thing people dislike about them is that they make it difficult to drive safely at night. But I'd say the majority of people like them.
What else? Oh, yes, they're also very tasty! Kangaroo meat is very tender, and many people say it's healthier than other red meats because it has less fat.
I don't remember if kangaroos have been in the news recently, but I do remember hearing a story about a tame kangaroo that saved a farmer from drowning. Actually, to be honest, I'm not sure if this is just an urban myth, but it was a good story.
We are proud of our kangaroos. We even have them on some of our bills! In the past, they were seen as a pest, but now, kangaroos are seen as a symbol of Australia.
