YouTuber MrBeast Sues His Burger Delivery Partner
The YouTube star known as MrBeast is suing the company that runs his fast food chain after people said the food was disgusting.
MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, is the world's most popular YouTuber, with more than 170 million subscribers.
He opened MrBeast Burger in 2020 but he has taken action after fans criticized the quality of the burgers.
The chain is run by a company called Virtual Dining Concepts and Donaldson said that he has received no money from the partnership, even though it has made millions of dollars.
Donaldson said that the company is damaging his reputation, and asked for the right to end the partnership.
Thousands of people online have criticized the food and late deliveries.
Some fans described the burgers as "the worst," while others blamed Donaldson — "big name, poor food," said one. "It's sad that MrBeast would put his name on this," said another.
Virtual Dining Concepts runs the MrBeast chain from more than 1,000 "ghost kitchens" across the world. That means the food is made in kitchens owned by other businesses and then delivered to customers.
MrBeast Burger opened its first real restaurant in New Jersey in September 2022, while Donaldson also started a snack brand called Feastables.
He is known on YouTube for giving away large amounts of money during his videos, and for special online shows like his real-life — but much safer — Squid Game competition.
At the start of 2023, he said he had helped 1,000 people see again by paying for their eye surgery.
The 25-year-old, from North Carolina, is thought to be worth at least $100 million.
