Another great review!

I came across this great review on Accelerated Decrepitude of the BMA’s Cinematic Celebration of Poe screening (this past December ’09). For those of you lucky enough to attend (& those who couldn’t make it), writer Tom Warner gives a fantastic overview of the whole program & said some really nice things about my film too.  Its great to read about all the awesome films that played in the show, so thanks Tom & keep on blogging – the Baltimore film/art scene depends on you!!!

Rabbit Hole @ SA Film Fest!

Great news this morning: my most recent short Rabbit Hole was selected to be shown at this year’s San Antonio Film Festival! The festival runs from June 23-27 in downtown San Antonio’s Instituto Cultural de Mexico. I’d have to say this is probably the farthest south I’ve screened a film, which is just awesome. I hear that San Antonio is a really cool town and that the people are super nice, I’d love to get down to see it but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make the trip on such short notice – who knows, keep your fingers crossed for me. As always, big huge thanks & congrats go out to my amazing cast & crew & family, who made this film possible!

Great mini-review!

I just came across this mini-review of my short film Rabbit Hole on Doreen Bolger’s blog on Charm City Current.  I shot the film last fall for the BMA’s Cinematic Celebration of Edgar Allan Poe, which was a lot of fun.  Doreen writes a really amazing & detailed recap of all the incredible films that played at the BMA, which only reminds me of how lucky I was to be a part of that amazing event, so thanks again to Doreen & the BMA, Rob Hatch of the 48 Hour Film Project, and everyone who helped me make my little movie.

Here’s a link to the article, and a blurb:

In Rabbit Hole by Nick Prevas, the male character sought his lost Lenore of The Raven fame. Here, however, the lovely but weird lady suffers from narcolepsy. Like Alice in Wonderland reborn, she appears and disappears from a closed coffin, sucked into a dark space where a huge dancing rabbit presides over mysterious events. Parts of this film were shot in a warehouse in Pigtown. Clearly, Baltimore offers no end of evocative sets!
