Well, I have a number of goals that I'd like to achieve in the future. Like many people, I'd like to have a family and a good career at some point in the future, but I think my most immediate objective at this point is owning my own apartment.
In Bangkok, where I live, apartments are quite expensive, especially if they're near a metro station or the Skytrain. However, it's likely that I'll be able to afford an apartment by the end of the year. I've been saving, and it seems probable that my parents will help me with a deposit. To achieve my goal, I need to save another ten thousand dollars; and I'm on track to do so in the next couple of months.
Why is this an important objective for me? Well, that's a good question! In Thailand, it's still not that common for a young woman to buy an apartment on her own, but I've never been very conventional. And while I'm not sure that I'll get married or have a family, at least this is something I have control over. I'm determined to have some freedom, and also financial independence is important to me. I'm fairly certain that having my own space will make me feel happy and secure. Also, it makes sense financially to have my own place, rather than paying rent.
