Soccer Star Moves House After Mayor Shares Location
Soccer players earn more money than ever before, and this has made them targets for criminals.
Around the world, some of the sport's richest soccer players have had their houses broken into. The problem is that it's very easy for criminals to find out when they're not home — all they have to do is turn on the TV!
So players like to be very careful about their privacy and security, as the mayor of a small Italian town has just found out.
Marco Ballarini, the mayor of Corbetta, discovered that Spanish star Álvaro Morata had moved to the town, which is close to Milan.
Morata joined the famous Italian club AC Milan this summer, just after he won the European Championships with Spain.
Ballarini soon shared the news of the town's new resident on social media. He said that even though he is a fan of AC Milan's big rival — Inter Milan — he was pleased to welcome Morata to the "big Corbetta family."
However, Morata wasn't happy that the mayor had shared the news.
The player wrote on Instagram, in Italian, that the mayor had violated his privacy and put his children in danger.
He said he does not have any valuable belongings: the only valuable things he has are his children.
Morata added that he would have to find a new house "immediately."
Later, the mayor said on Radio Rossonera that he didn't think he had done anything wrong. He said he didn't understand why Morata had made a fuss.
Soccer fans in Italy are known to be very passionate, and they can sometimes become violent in the stadium during games.
