Shaken, Not Stirred: New 007 Bar Opens in London
James Bond fans in London can now enjoy a "shaken, not stirred" drink at a new 007-themed bar. The bar, called The 007, is located in the Burlington Arcade in central London's Mayfair area, and celebrates the 60th anniversary of the 1964 Bond film Goldfinger.
Opened on September 18, The 007 offers a taste of the secret service lifestyle made famous by James Bond, otherwise known as agent 007.
The bar is themed around the famous film series, which follows the story of the fictional British spy created by Ian Fleming in the 1950s. Over the years, six actors have played Bond across 25 films, earning nearly $8 billion at the global box office.
Before even entering the bar, visitors will see gold colored sculptures of 007's most famous car, the Aston Martin DB5, hanging from the ceiling of the shopping arcade. The arcade also has a carpet lined with quotes from Goldfinger.
Inside, The 007 has two bars with a gold-themed interior, decorated with props from the 1964 film. These include a Fort Knox gold bar, Goldfinger's golf shoes, and the dangerous hat worn by the character Oddjob, who was played by Harold Sakata.
But that's not all. A menu of special cocktails is on offer for visitors to enjoy, and true fans might want to ask for their Martini to be made using one of Bond's most famous lines — "shaken not stirred."
For those interested in Bond-themed shopping, there is also a store offering items such as a 007 calendar, limited-edition prints and other themed gifts.
Additionally, visitors have the opportunity to bid on limited-edition sets of Macallan whisky, produced for the 60th anniversary. Money from these sales will go to charity.
The 007 will remain open until December 31, offering fans the perfect place to celebrate their love for the British spy franchise.
