Gamer Suspended from Twitch for Shooting a Gun During Stream
Professional gamer Carl Riemer was suspended from streaming service Twitch after shooting a gun during a stream.
While drinking a beer and trying to make a joke during a game of Call of Duty, Riemer can be seen taking the bullets out of a gun. However, the gun wasn't empty and he fired it by accident. The bullet went through a metal cup before it hit one of his expensive screens. No one was hurt.
Twitch, which is owned by Amazon, does not allow violence or threats of violence, including using weapons, while streaming. Because of this, Riemer was immediately suspended from the site.
Along with the suspension, his gaming team, SoaR, also removed him. Riemer agreed with the team's decision. "I have nothing but love for those people and they did what they needed to do," he said in a Twitter video.
Riemer said that Twitch was his main source of income, and he's not sure if he will be allowed to stream there again. However, he will continue to make videos on YouTube for his 855,000 followers.
"It's a mistake, but it's a mistake that could have cost somebody their life," he told his Twitter fans. "I could have hurt somebody, I could have hurt myself, I could have hurt one of my animals." In the video, at least five dogs can be seen behind the gamer.
"That is not OK what I did and, whatever happens, I deserve it and it was my fault."
