Bird's-Eye View: Islands That Look Cool From Above
You could say that the best way to see the Croatian island of Galešnjak ("Gal-ESH-nyak") is not to visit it at all.
That's because for many people the most interesting thing about the island is its shape, which is best seen from above.
It's an almost perfect heart, but if you stood in the middle of it, you would never know!
There isn't actually a lot to see on the island, which is only about 50 meters wide. But since it went viral about 15 years ago, it has been popular with visitors and is sometimes known as "Lover's Island."
No-one lives there and it's privately owned, but people can take trips there by boat.
Unfortunately, in the most recent aerial images, it doesn't look quite as beautiful as it used to, after some of the island's trees were cleared. But this heart is not man-made, it's all natural.
There are, of course, lots of islands whose interesting shapes you can see from the sky.
You might have played this game yourself, looking out the window of an airplane to find islands that look like your dog, a rugby ball or perhaps your partner!
Maybe you've spotted Isabela Island, the largest of the Galápagos Islands, which are part of Ecuador.
From above, it looks like a seahorse, although most people visit to see real sea animals!
Over in Malaysia, there are three islands that look a little like a child's picture of a smiling face — but perhaps you can find a better example of your own next time you fly.
Now see if you can guess what some people think Huvahendhoo Island in the Maldives looks like.
Because of the small buildings on one side, it's sometimes compared to a Venetian carnival mask!
