In some cities around the world, the residents have had enough of tourists. They say there are just too many, and it's affecting their daily life.
Others are happy to welcome visitors — if they're well behaved!
So what is it that really annoys locals? Lots of people online have been having their say.
Photos are an important part of going on holiday. But one Reddit user complained about people who take all day getting the perfect picture — especially those who behave as if they're fashion models!
Another said tourists shouldn't be taking fun, happy photos in places that commemorate things like wars or disasters.
In fact, that's just one example of showing disrespect to the local culture, according to some people.
Lindsay Cohn from the Travel + Leisure website added that visitors should also make an effort to learn some local customs — for example, whether it's important to tip at restaurants, or if there are any clothes you should or shouldn't wear.
And many residents of popular tourist towns say that trying to speak even just a few words in the local language shows that visitors have made an effort.
Although they may not be quite so happy if you're part of a big group and you're all standing on the sidewalk so no one can get by!
But residents say one of the worst things tourists can do is drink too much alcohol — which often means they make a lot of noise and behave in inappropriate ways.
Of course, most of us have been tourists at one time or another, and it's normal for us to behave a little differently when we're in a new place.
However, locals say tourists should try to enjoy their vacation without annoying everyone else!
