Well, over the past 10 years or so I've tried a number of different forms of exercise to stay fit, including weightlifting, aerobics, and pilates. But currently, I'm really into yoga.
I guess everyone knows what yoga is these days, but in case you don't, I'll give you a little background information. Yoga is a form of exercise that originated in India, but now it's pretty popular everywhere. I usually take a class two or three times a week.
The great thing about it is that you don't need a lot of equipment, just a mat, a towel and a water bottle. You also need a good teacher. There are lots of different yoga classes available. You just need to decide what style of yoga you'd like to do. For instance, some types of yoga are good for your heart, while others help improve flexibility. I've even heard you can do yoga with your dog. And I've also seen an advertisement for beer yoga, where everyone drinks beer at the end of the class!
I really enjoy yoga. The breathing and stretching work really well for me. I hurt my knee running a marathon last year, so yoga feels a lot more gentle. But it's also an effective and energizing workout and it keeps me in shape. All in all, I think it's been really good for my health over the last couple years.
