Hollywood Star Says Young Actors Aren't Big Film Fans
YouTube Shorts — the short videos that have become very popular on the site — are no more than 60 seconds long.
TikTok videos, on average, last less than a minute.
So perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise that some young people find that regular movies are just a little too long!
At least, that's what Hollywood actor Winona Ryder has said.
The US star, who is in the 2024 movie Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and the TV show Stranger Things, has said that some of the young actors she has worked with aren't interested in films.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, she didn't name any actors but said "there are a few that are just not interested in movies."
She added: "The first thing they say is, 'How long is it?'"
Millie Bobby Brown, who appeared in Stranger Things with Ryder has said she finds movies a little long.
The 20-year-old said when people recommend films to her she thinks: "How long do I have to sit there for?"
However, Ryder, who has been acting in movies since 1986, said that her Beetlejuice Beetlejuice co-star Jenna Ortega is a big fan of old films.
Ortega was born in 2002, but Ryder said she knows about 1960s movies.
However, many young people have no problem watching long movies. The Marvel films, which are popular with people of all ages, tend to be more than two hours in length.
For Ryder, movies are not just important, they're "sacred." And she said she's worried about the future of film.
