Anna Sawai Included on Time's 'Next 100' List
The award-winning Shogun actor Anna Sawai has been named in Time magazine's "100 Next" list.
The 32-year-old, who is Japanese but was born in New Zealand, won an Emmy this year for her performance in the popular show.
Time's 100 Next list has been published since 2019. It recognizes 100 rising stars in business, entertainment, sports, science and politics.
It's different from the magazine's "Time 100" list, which has been released since 1999 and usually recognizes people who are more established in those fields.
Hiroyuki Sanada, who was also in Shogun, said in the magazine that Sawai will "just get bigger and bigger."
He added: "I can't wait to watch."
Some of the others on the Time list have become global stars, too, like singer Sabrina Carpenter.
The 25-year-old American's songs — including "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" — have been streamed billions of times this year.
US rapper Shaboozey, who is known for "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," which he released this year, is also on the list.
There was also a place for Richard Gadd, who wrote and starred in the popular Netflix show Baby Reindeer, which was based on his own experiences.
Among those involved in politics, the co-chair of the Republican Party's National Committee, Lara Trump, was included.
Trump, who is married to Donald Trump's son Eric, has been called one of the "rising stars" of the Republican Party in the US.
If Donald Trump becomes president, it's thought that Lara Trump could have an important job in the new administration.
Meanwhile, Thailand's 38-year-old prime minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra is also on the list. She became Asia's youngest-ever female leader when she got the job this summer.
