Japanese Pizza Chain Delivers Pizza for Dogs
Some dogs will eat anything — shoes, grass, toys. But if you've got a pickier pet, a Japanese company may have the answer: dog pizza.
And the best part is, it's a meal you can share with your dog!
The pizza chain Pizza-La has actually been making pizza for dogs since 2021. At first it was only available in pet shops, but now customers can get it delivered across Japan!
The special dog pizza comes in teriyaki chicken flavor. It's got chicken, corn, mushrooms and seaweed on top, and the pizza dough is made with chicken to give it extra flavor.
The 10-centimeter pizza costs 880 yen, or about $6.25. It's delivered frozen, so it needs to be heated — although dogs shouldn't eat it when it's too hot!
Pizza-La worked with a pet food company called Comif Deli to make the pizzas, which are safe for dogs to eat.
According to the pet health website Pet MD, dogs shouldn't eat normal pizzas because things like onions, garlic and cheese can make them sick.
But you can both enjoy a slice of the dog pizza, if your pet is happy to share!
Of course, not everyone will like the idea of eating a pizza made for dogs. However, human staff at the Japanese website SoraNews24 tested the pizza and said it tasted good.
One employee said it tasted like pizza from a different country; another said it tasted healthy; and one said it tasted like something a dog would like to eat!
